#FOLKS4FACTS Is a movement for people who believe that that the ‘renaming” of places must reflect a fair and balanced treatment of our past and that relevant, provable facts and context must inform these decisions. It’s a movement for those willing to support efforts to make our voices heard not abolish our history where it is not warranted.
Principles we embrace:

• • That factual, balanced analysis and proper context of historical figures must inform decisions about ‘renaming’.
  • That those who built our nation are not perfect beings, and they should be judged consistent with the values of their time, their circumstances and core achievements.
  • That it impoverishes Canada when we cancel our history based on popular culture, hysteria, vested interests, misunderstanding, ignorance, political agendas and fear.
